Good winter storage for your Navimow guarantees a superb mechanical and performance state in spring and is beneficial in maintaining the battery life. Here are the procedures and tips for winter storage to prepare your robotic mower for the coming winter.
1. Preparation before winter storage
1.1 Clear all mowing schedules
Open the Navimow app and go to Settings>Work settings>Mowing schedule to clear all mowing schedules.
1.2 Charge the battery
Charge the robotic mower and ensure the battery power is ≥85%.
2. Removal of the charging station and GNSS antenna
2.1 Disconnect the charging station from the power, and then power off the robotic mower by pressing and holding the OK button for more than four seconds.
2.2 To avoid re-mapping in the following year, we recommend that you mark the position of the charging station before removing the charging station and GNSS antenna. Meanwhile, leave the base fork or the antenna extension kit that holds the GNSS antenna in its original place and only take down the GNSS antenna for storage. Specific steps are as follows.
a) Use an Allen wrench to remove the four screws that fasten the charging station.
b) Mark the position by inserting the four removed screws or other similar objects into the original holes.
c) Take down the GNSS antenna from the standing pole or the antenna extension kit, and leave the base fork or the antenna extension kit in its original position.
3. Winter storage
3.1 Before storing your robotic mower, clean its whole outer shell with a wet towel or soft brush. Also, clean the mowing system.*
*Note: Please wear protective gloves before cleaning the mowing system to avoid being cut by the blades.
3.2 Pack the robotic mower, charging station, GNSS antenna, power cable, extension tube, and extension cable in their original packages, and store them in a dry, frost-proof place.
3.3 Power off the robotic mower before storage. We recommend that you take out the charging station and the robotic mower to charge the robotic mower every 120 days and charge the battery power to 85% or higher.
3.4 For Winter Care of Exposed connectors/plugs:
It is recommended to store any items with exposed connectors/plugs indoors during winter to protect them from harsh weather conditions.
If the item must remain outdoors, cover the exposed connectors/plugs with protective film or plastic bags. This helps prevent moisture intrusion from rain or snow.
If possible, elevate the item slightly off the ground. This reduces the risk of water or snow accumulation around the exposed connectors/plugs.
4. Robotic mower reuse after winter storage
4.1 Install the GNSS antenna back to the standing pole or the antenna extension kit.
4.2 Find the former fixing position of the charging station, place the charging station by aligning the charging board with the original holes, and connect the power cable.
Note: It is essential to mark the original fixing holes so that the charging station can be properly placed in its original position in the coming year.
4.3 Place the robotic mower outside the charging station and press the OK button to start the robotic mower.
When the robotic mower light turns blue, press the HOME button and then press the OK button. The robotic mower will go to the charging station and charge itself.
If Error code 6004 appears or the notification "Unable to start mowing schedule" pops up because of charging station/antenna is not in the original position of last year, in this case, the previous map is no longer usable. You need to delete the previous map and create a new one.
4.4 If the robotic mower can go to the charging station and charge itself properly, press the MOW button to start a mowing task. If the robotic mower can leave the charging station and start mowing properly, and no error appears on the app, the robotic mower can operate normally. Now you can fix the charging station.
4.5 We have released new firmware versions during the winter storage period which contain new features and fixes for known issues. We recommend that you upgrade your device to the latest firmware version for the best user experience before the mower is officially put into service.
To successfully complete the update, please ensure that:
1. The mower is in the charging station.
2. The mower is connected to a network with a strong signal (through 4G or Wi-Fi).
3. The battery power is more than 20%.
4. No mowing schedule in the next hour.
If you are still not familiar with how to do it, please refer to the article below for more information: https://navimow.zendesk.com/hc/en-001/articles/6367667261977-How-do-I-update-the-firmware-for-Navimow-H-Series-
4.6 If your mower is not performing well at the border due to poor satellite signal reception or changes in the environment, you can fix the problem by modifying the current map. Check the video attachment below for more information on how to do this.
