Does the mower always have to maintain a "visual connection" with the antenna?

Not necessarily.

Technically, the antenna and the mower should see the same satellites at the same time to get a better signal, which means that if we install the antenna in an open area, it is easier for both mower and the antenna to see more satellites at the same time.
